Warriors Wrap Up Spring Break with Four More Wins

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Indiana Tech softball team wrapped up their annual spring break trip in Florida with four more wins to finish the trip with a 10-2 overall record over the seven days down in the sunshine state. The Warriors would defeat Cornell College (Iowa) and Monmouth College (Ill.) on Thursday before wins over Montreat College (N.C.) and Florida National University on Friday.

The Warriors offense was rolling on Thursday with two big wins. Tech defeated Cornell 6-0 in the first game of the day and took down Monmouth 9-1 in just five innings in game two. Over the two games, Carlye Walter would put up two RBIs, while seven other Warriors would each pick up one. Allie Forster would score four runs over the two games, while Savannah Bravo and Walter would both pick up wins on mound.

Friday's games would be tighter on the scoreboard, but the Warriors would still get it done with another pair of wins, defeating Montreat 2-0 and Florida National 5-2. Kiersten Delaney would lead the Warriors over the two games with three RBIs, while Bella Brock had two, and Melissa Cabrera had one. Maire Trouba would score three times in the two games and register three hits. Savannah Bravo and Carlye Walter would pick up the wins on the mound for Tech, while Mallory Stinson would earn a save against Florida National after three scoreless innings of work, only allowing one hit in 12 batters faced.

The Warriors improve to 12-6 overall on the season and wrap up their spring break trip with a 10-2 record. After returning home, the Warriors will play their next three games on the road, with the first doubleheader coming against Trinity College (Ill.) on Wednesday, March 19th in Palos Heights, Illinois.
