UTICA, Mich. – The Indiana Tech baseball team traveled to Utica, Michigan, on Saturday morning for a conference doubleheader at Jimmy John's Field, hosted by the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils. The Warriors took care of business in the series opener, downing the Blue Devils 3-0. In the night cap, the bats got hot as Tech completed the series sweep with a 15-4 win.

Game one of the doubleheader was a defensive battle as the two sides' pitching staffs dealt their best stuff. The scoreboard was left blank through the first six innings until the Warriors broke the deadlock with three runs in the top of the seventh. Tech's offense was led by
Brycen Hannah, who went two for four at the plate with one RBI. Also recording RBIs in the seventh inning were
Jorge Santana and
Alex Watkins.
Adam Besser went the distance on the bump for the Warriors, earning the shutout complete game win. He gave up four hits and walked none while striking out four of the 24 batters he faced.

Game two started similarly to the first as neither team posted a run through two innings. In the third, the Warriors brought in one run but were matched by the Blue Devils in the bottom half of the innings. The Warriors bats came alive in the fourth inning as the Orange and Black drove in 11 runs.
Ben Morrison led off the inning with a solo home run. Two batters later,
Brycen Hannah sent one over the wall, scoring two runs.
Jorge Santana knocked in a pair of runs with a single to center field, followed by Morrison's second home run of the inning, this time a two-run shot. Three batters later,
Garrett Rainey joined in on the action and hit a three-run home run, putting the Warriors up 12-1. The Blue Devils followed up with two runs in the bottom half of the fourth. After two more scoreless innings, Tech plated three more insurance runs, closing the game with a 15-4 victory.
Dale Jorgensen got the win on the mound for the Warriors, throwing four innings. During his outing, he allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits, walked two, and struck out two of the 17 batters he faced.

The Warriors now sit at 19-8 on the season and 10-0 in conference play. Tech continues an action-packed weekend on Sunday, with a trip to Sylvania, Ohio, to take on Lourdes University at Mercy Field in a WHAC doubleheader, starting at 1:00 p.m.
