MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – The Indiana Tech men's volleyball team wrapped up their regular season with a trip to Mount Vernon, Ohio, for a contest with the Mount Vernon Nazarene University Cougars on Saturday afternoon. The Orange and Black took care of business on the road as they returned home with a 3-1 victory over the Cougars.
In the opening set with the Cougars, the two sides were deadlocked right from the start. Neither side was able to create any separation until the Orange and Black closed the set with a 7-1 run, winning 25-21. The Warriors were in control of the second set, never trailing on their way to a 25-19 victory. The Cougars came back with vengeance in the third set, leading from the early stages through the end, taking one set back from the Warriors with a 25-16 victory. After stumbling in the third, the Warriors regained their footing in the fourth, leading from the 2-2 mark on, as they would seal the match with a 25-19 victory.
Dylan Poore led the Warriors' attack with 14 kills, followed by
Jensen Yarosh, who posted 10.
Daniel Mitsin led Tech in aces and assists with three and 32, respectively.
Zack Karns and
Logan Gamero each added three blocks while
Jacob Carrico, Yarosh, and Mitsin all had six digs.
Tech finishes the regular season with an 11-14 overall record, while holding a 10-6 record in the WHAC. The Warriors return to action on Tuesday, April 15, as they host the opening round of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.
