Warriors Fall to Pilots in WHAC Tournament

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's volleyball team opened the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament by hosting Bethel University on Tuesday evening in the Schaefer Center. After taking the two previous meetings against the Pilots, the Orange and Black came up short in the first round, falling to the Pilots 0-3, which brings their season to a close.

In the opening set, the Warriors found themselves in a hole early as the Pilots led 5-2. Through the course of the set, Tech kept things close, until the Pilots, while leading 19-17, would close the set on a 6-1 run to take it 25-18. The second set was almost a mirror of the first. The Warriors trailed early, but kept the set within reach up to the 17-16 mark. From there, the visitors would close the set by outscoring the Warriors 8-2 to win 25-18. The Pilots kept control through the third set. While trailing 15-20, the Warriors battled back to cut the Pilots' lead to 20-21, but a four-point burst from the visitors sealed the contest, 25-20.

Dylan Poore led the Warriors with 10 kills and one ace. Daniel Mitsin led the side in blocks and assists with four and 25, respectively. Logan Gamero matched Mitsin's tally at the net with four blocks. Alex Rosenow led the side with six digs.

The Warriors finish the season with an 11-15 record while going 10-6 in conference play to finish fourth in the WHAC standings.
