Women’s Lacrosse Falls to LTU in WHAC Title Game

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The #8 Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team traveled to Michigan for the WHAC Tournament Championship game against #6 Lawrence Tech University on Saturday afternoon. After winning their regular season matchup, the Warriors would fall in the title game to the defending champs 11-18.

Noelle Ricci would put the Warriors on the board first in the first quarter and after two LTU goals, Michelle Farrell would tie the game at two just four minutes in. The Blue Devils would go on a run to close the quarter and lead it 6-3 after one. The Warriors would then score the next three goals to tie it at six midway through the second quarter. LTU would get a goal before halftime to take a 7-6 lead into the break. Lawrence Tech would take control in the third quarter, scoring five of the next six goals to lead it 12-7. Farrell and Lauren Hainlin would both score in the final minute though to bring Tech back within three going into the fourth quarter. However, the Blue Devils would put together another run with six straight goals to put the game out of reach. The Warriors would score twice late but would end up falling 11-18. Michelle Farrell led the Warriors with eight points, scoring three goals and adding five assists. Lauren Hainlin, Cyn'Cere McRae, and Gabby Hitchcock would each cause two turnovers and pick up two ground balls, while Hainlin would also score two goals in the game. Kat Hoff would make ten saves and pick up eight ground balls in just over 53 minutes of action, while Syndey Oberdorfer would play the final 6:25 in goal for the Warriors.

The Warriors fall to 11-4 overall on the season and will now wait to see if they qualify for the NAIA National Tournament.
