Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team returned to action on Friday evening, hosting the University of Michigan-Dearborn Wolverines for their sixth conference game of the season. After falling in their previous match, the Warriors came back with a vengeance in the contest with the Wolverines, winning in straight sets 25-12, 25-18, and 25-15.
The Warriors got off on the front foot in the first set, going on a 4-0 run to open the match, before doubling the Wolverines' tally for a 10-5 lead. Through the remainder of the set, the Warriors continued to dominate, stretching their advantage on the way to a 25-12 win. In set two, there would be little to separate the two sides in the early goings. However, a kill from
Yulie Carmeli while trailing 14-15 would kickstart a 9-1 run, which featured four kills from
Jacqueline Allaway, leading to a 25-18 win in the set. In the third set, the two sides were even again through the early stages, until a 9-0 run from the Warriors, which featured five straight aces from
Emiline Wood, led to the Warriors completing the sweep with a 25-15 win.
Lauren Snyder led the Warriors' attack with 10 kills.
Emiline Wood posted a team high six service aces, while also leading the side with 12 digs.
Jacqueline Allaway and
Olivia Kracium would share the top spot in the block category, recording three each.
Kristin Matlack tallied 14 assists.
The Warriors move to 9-8 on the season and sit 3-3 in conference. Up next, the Warriors host Madonna University and the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras for a tri-match on Saturday afternoon with games at 12:00, 2:00, and 4:00 p.m.
