Men’s Soccer Gets Back in the Win Column with 2-0 Victory Against Cornerstone

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The #12 ranked Indiana Tech men's soccer team was back at home on Saturday afternoon after a seven game road trip. Tech would host Cornerstone University, defeating the Golden Eagles 2-0.

The Warriors would score first with Fabian Hauer breaking the deadlock with just under ten minutes to play in the first half. The Tech defense was stifling throughout the first half, not allowing a shot over the first 45 minutes. Tech would get off to a quick start in the second half, earning a penalty just five minutes in. Liam Arthur would step and convert from the spot to make it a 2-0 lead for the Orange & Black. Both sides would create scoring chances over the final 40 minutes, but Tech's goalkeeper Cuba Grant would make four big stops to keep the Golden Eagles off the board and finish with a clean sheet as the Warriors walked away with a 2-0 win. Emre Baris would pick up the assist on Hauer's goal, while Arthur and Gui Moreira would combine for eight shots to propel the Warriors attack.

The Warriors improve to 6-3-1 overall and 2-1-0 in WHAC play with the win. Tech will host #20 Madonna University in a huge conference battle on Wednesday, October 1st at 1pm at Warrior Athletic Field.
