JACKSON, Mich. – The Indiana Tech men's and women's bowling teams kicked off their season over the weekend, traveling to Jackson, Michigan, for the first of this season's WHAC Jamborees. At the event, the Warriors put together strong showings, taking first place on the men's side, with the women placing second.
The men's team came in with a team score of 6706, outpacing second place by 265 pins. Leading the way for Tech was Nolan Blessing, who finished third overall, knocking down 683 pins in three games. Right behind him was
Jayden Combs, finishing fourth overall with a score of 679.
Tuna Boncu placed in the top ten, finishing ninth overall, posting a score of 656 in his three games.
Carson Shroyer and
Dylan Bulusan bowled in two games with scores of 475 and 422, respectively.
Cameron Kilgore and Hayden Tarris tallied one game each with scores of 179 and 178.
The women's team finished second overall behind Spring Arbor University with a score of 5583. Due to SAU not competing in the WHAC, the Warriors would earn first place in terms of conference placement points. The Warriors were led by
Leah Brazier, who finished 12
th overall with a 553 in her three games. Bailey Van Meter posted a 541, earning her 18
th place.
Natalie Schildhouse was next for the Warriors, posting a score of 509 in three games. Jady Voegle bowled two games, in which she scored 371.
Meagan Kennedy,
Jordan Downham,
Elizabeth Jones, and
Kayla Cameron all bowled one game with scores of 175, 161, 157, and 145, respectively.
Both teams are back in action on Saturday, October 4th, for the first day of the Midwestern Championship in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
