Geibe Named NAIA Wrestler of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Indiana Tech's Bo Geibe was named the NAIA Women's Wrestler of the Week on Wednesday, the national office announced.

Geibe was named the Mid-South Conference (MSC) Women's Wrestler of the Week on Monday and now earns national recognition, making her the third Warrior and second Tech women's wrestler to claim national honors, joining Rose Kaplan and Jaxson Fugate (men's basketball).

The redshirt-junior won the Warrior Open last weekend, going 5-0 with 4 pins. In the first two rounds, she would pick up falls in 0:37 and 3:50 before getting another fall in the quarterfinal round in 3:45. Geibe would the earn a 9-4 decision win in the semifinal before another fall victory (5:24) in the final. In the tournament, she would pick up wins over the #17 ranked wrestler in the NAIA and the #4 ranked NCAA Region 4 wrestler, which created a common over NAIA #12, on her way to the title.
 
The women's wrestling team is back in action this weekend with a series of home duals. The Warriors will host #6 Cumberlands and (RV) Lourdes on Friday, January 30th and #17 Campbellsville on Sunday, February 1st at Warrior Park.
