Warriors Cruise Past Saints in 2-0 Victory

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The #4 ranked Indiana Tech men's soccer team hosted Aquinas College on Saturday evening where the Warriors would cruise to a 2-0 victory on home turf.

In a big conference matchup, the Saints came into this one with a perfect 4-0-0 conference record, while the Warriors were sitting at 2-1-1, setting up what was expected to be a competitive, back and forth affair. However, that was not the case. Tech would dominate the game from seemingly start to finish. Robin Vezinhet would continue to lead the Warriors by scoring again pouncing on a loose ball in the box to make it 1-0 Warriors in the 35th minute. Moments later, Matthew Takawira finished off a beautiful cross from Jack Kennedy to double the lead. The quick back-to-back goals forced Aquinas to make an entire 11-man substitution in the 42nd minute as the Warriors led 2-0 at the break. Tech would see out the second half, cruising to victory. The Warrior defense would only allow one shot all game, outshooting the Saints 16-1. Marvin Kopp would earn the shutout victory in goal for the Warriors with one save.

The Warriors earn their tenth win of the season and improve to 10-2-2 overall on the season and 3-1-1 in WHAC play. Tech will play at Madonna University next on Wednesday, October 14th at 3pm in Livonia, Michigan.
