Women’s Soccer Rolls to 3-0 Victory Against Defiance

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team hosted Defiance College on Wednesday night where the Warriors would roll to a 3-0 victory.

The Warriors would pick up a much needed win on Wednesday as they near the end of the regular season. Tech would create chances in the first half, threatening the Defiance goal with 12 shot attempts. They finally broke the deadlock in the 37th minute when Chante Perkins lined up a beautiful free kick from outside the box and placed it perfectly into the top left corner to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead before halftime. The Tech chances continued heavily in the second half with their level of play elevating as well. Jillian Lester finished off a pass from Leticia Guimaraes to make it 2-0 Warriors, as her strong run of form continues, now scoring in four of her last five games. Two minutes later, Guimaraes would score a goal of her own with Perkins picking up the assist as the lead grew to three. The Orange & Black continued putting shots on goal as they looked for more, but the Defiance keeper would make four saves over the final 30 minutes to hold the Warriors to a 3-0 win. Tech would record a season high of 25 shots and tie their season high with three goals in a strong showing near the end of the season. The Warrior defense, led by Payton Kuhn, would allow just one shot all game as they helped Madison Strain earn the shutout victory in goal.

Tech improves to 3-9-3 overall this season and 1-5-2 in WHAC play. The Warriors will host Rochester Christian University on senior day this Saturday, October 24th at 1pm at Warrior Athletic Field in their regular season finale.
