DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team defeated Defiance in four sets on Friday.
Defiance led 13-10 early in set one, but a 5-1 run put Tech ahead 15-14. With the set tied at 17-17, Indiana Tech used a 6-0 run to take a 23-17 lead. Indiana Tech would take the first set 25-20.
Indiana Tech led 12-6 in the second set. Tech extended their lead to double digits at 20-10. The Warriors would cruise to a 25-16 second set win.
Indiana Tech led 13-9 in set three, but a 6-1 run put Defiance ahead 15-14. Tech led 19-18, but a 4-1 run put Defiance ahead 22-20. Defiance would go on to take the third set 25-23.
Tech took a commanding 12-2 lead to open set four. Defiance then used a massive 14-3 run to cut the Tech lead to one at 16-15. Indiana Tech then used a 6-1 run to extend their lead to six at 22-16. The Warriors would go on to take the fourth set 25-20.
Lauren Snyder led Tech with 16 kills.
Hannah Teich added 12 kills and a team-high four aces.
Kristin Matlack led Tech with 42 assists and also tied
Abby Lane and
Lauren Paska for the team lead with 13 digs.
Katelynn Toft had a team-high 4.0 blocks.
Indiana Tech moves to 18-6 overall and 7-1 in WHAC play. The Warriors return to action on Wednesday at UNOH.
