LIMA, Ohio –
Lauren Paska (17 kills) and
Kristin Matlack (53 assists) both set career-highs as the Indiana Tech women's volleyball team defeated UNOH in four sets on Wednesday.
With UNOH ahead 7-6 in set one, Indiana Tech used an 8-0 run to take a 14-7 lead. Indiana Tech led by as many as 11 and would go on to take the set 25-14.
Indiana Tech led 10-5 in set two to force an early UNOH timeout. UNOH responded, tying the set at 11-11. With the set tied at 14-14, a 4-0 run gave UNOH an 18-14 lead. Indiana Tech cut the lead to two on several occasions but could not get any closer as UNOH would take the second 25-22.
Indiana Tech took an 8-4 lead in set three, forcing another early UNOH timeout. With Tech ahead 14-9, UNOH used a 5-2 run to cut the lead to two at 16-14, but the lead never fell below two as Indiana Tech would take the third set 25-19.
Tech led 14-10 in set four, but a 5-1 run by UNOH tied the set at 15-15. With Indiana Tech holding a narrow 19-18 lead, a 6-1 run by the Warriors gave Indiana Tech a 25-19 fourth set win, clinching the 3-1 match victory.
Lauren Snyder led Indiana Tech with 18 kills.
Lauren Paska added a career-high 17 kills, and
Hannah Teich added 11 kills. Teich led Tech with six aces and 6.0 blocks.
Kristin Matlack led Tech with a career-high 53 assists, and
Karleigh Hutchins led Tech with 17 digs.
Indiana Tech moves to 19-6 overall and 8-1 in WHAC play. The Warriors return to action on October 16 at home against Lawrence Tech.
