Indiana Tech Men’s Hockey Wins Sixth Consecutive Conference Title

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Six straight.

The dynasty continues for Indiana Tech men's hockey as the Warriors captured their sixth consecutive conference championship this weekend, completing a dominant series performance over Aquinas College. With a commanding 5-0 shutout on Friday followed by a gritty 4-3 road victory on Saturday, Indiana Tech once again proved why the road to the conference title runs through the Warriors.

The Warriors exploded early and never let up, shutting out Aquinas College 5-0 Friday night in Fort Wayne to open the weekend series in dominant fashion.

Felix Appelt wasted no time, scoring just 22 seconds into the first period off a feed from Aidan Dufort to ignite the home crowd. Later in the opening frame, Mason Bazaluk capitalized on the power play at the 8:11 mark, finishing assists from Isaiah Gagerman and Malik Ali to give Indiana Tech a 2-0 lead after one.

The momentum carried into the second period when Austin Sawyer buried an unassisted goal midway through the frame, extending the lead to 3-0.

Indiana Tech sealed it in the third. Dufort added an unassisted tally of his own at 4:22 before Ethan Dominy capped the night with a goal off an assist from Michael Dalaly, pushing the final to 5-0.

In game two Aquinas opened the scoring late in the first period capitalized at 17:46 to give the Saints a 1-0 lead. The Warriors responded quickly.

Pavel Svoboda evened the game at 7:56 off an assist from Maksym Maiuk, then struck again just 43 seconds later, finishing a pass from Zane Myler to swing the momentum and give Indiana Tech a 2-1 lead heading into the break.

The Warriors kept their foot on the gas early in the second period. Luke Anderson extended the lead to 3-1 at 1:34, finishing a play set up by Joey Mocnik and Bobby Hathcock. In the third, Connor Funke delivered what proved to be the game-winning goal at 11:01, scoring unassisted to push the advantage to 4-1.

Aquinas refused to go quietly. They scored there second of the night at 10:38, and just moments later Gavin Rozema cut the deficit to one at 4-3, setting up a tense finish.

Despite the pressure and late push from the Saints, the Warriors held firm defensively to secure the one-goal victory. With the 4-3 win, Indiana Tech completed the sweep and officially captured its sixth straight conference championship — a testament to both dominance and resilience when it mattered most.
