DEARBORN, MICH. - Indiana Tech is headed to the championship game after a thrilling 4–3 overtime victory over Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday afternoon in Dearborn, Michigan.
The Warriors struck first late in the opening period. At the 13:33 mark, Ryan Doucette found the back of the net off assists from Malik Ali and Mason Bazaluk to give Indiana Tech a 1–0 lead heading into the intermission.
Michigan-Dearborn responded in the second period with back-to-back goals to take a 2–1 advantage. Indiana Tech answered quickly, as Joey Mocnik evened the score at 2–2 just under two minutes later off a feed from Aidan Dufort.
The back-and-forth battle continued into the third. Dearborn regained the lead at 16:22, but the Warriors refused to back down. With just over two minutes remaining in regulation, Doucette scored his second goal of the game, assisted by Dufort and Isaiah Gagerman, to tie the contest at 3–3 and force overtime.
In the extra frame, Indiana Tech capitalized on the power play. At 5:10 of overtime, Aidan Dufort delivered the game-winning goal off an assist from Malik Ali, sealing the 4–3 victory and sending the Warriors to the championship game.
Indiana Tech finished 1-for-4 on the power play, including the decisive overtime tally, while totaling 15 power play shots throughout the contest. Doucette led the offensive effort with two goals, and Dufort recorded a goal and two assists in a standout performance.
With the overtime win, the Warriors advance to the championship game, moving on to Lawrence Tech sunday evening.
