INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's and women's bowling teams competed in their biggest tournament of the season over the weekend at the Hoosier Classic in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The Tech men would place 12
th as a team in the 78-team field, totaling 5,210 pins across five games and 2,686 pins across 15 baker games for a grand total of 7,896 pins for the tournament.
Hayden Tarris and
Malakai Pettrie would lead the Warriors in the tournament, finishing tied for 18
th overall with 1,121 pins each across five games.
Tuna Boncu would tally 1,010 pins and
Nolan Blessing would tally 1,005 pins in five games for the Warriors, while
Dylan Bulusan had 820 pins in four games and
Jayden Combs had 133 pins in one game. Wichita State would win the event with 8,510 total pins.
The women would finish 21
st out of 64 teams with a grand total of 7,277 pins in the tournament, from 4,616 pins across five games and 2,661 pins across 15 baker games.
Meagan Kennedy would lead the Warriors with 1,014 pins each across five games, finishing in 34
th overall.
Libby Hurley would score 930 pins in five games and
Bailey Van Meter would score 755 pins in four games for Tech.
Jillian Treska and
Leah Brazier would each play three games, knocking down 565 and 515 pins respectively.
Elizabeth Jones added 367 pins in two games,
Shelby Mercer added 284 pins in two games, and
Jordan Downham added 186 pins in one game. Pikeville would win the event with 7,994 total pins.
That wraps up regular season play for the Warriors as they now gear up for the postseason events. The first of which will be the WHAC Championships in Lansing, Michigan on February 21
st.
