Indiana Tech punched its ticket to the CCWHA Championship game Saturday evening with a gritty 4–3 semifinal victory over Adrian College at the Dearborn Ice Skating Center.
The Warriors found themselves in a back-and-forth battle from the start. Adrian opened the scoring at 10:07 of the first period on a goal from Taylor Robinson. Indiana Tech responded just over three minutes later when Allison Greene netted her 25th goal of the season off assists from Hailey Terpstra and Halle Murray to even the score at 1–1.
Adrian regained the lead late in the first, but the Warriors answered again. With just over a minute remaining in the period, Daphnée Gagnon capitalized on a setup from Jaiden Rogers and Ella Pell to send the teams into the intermission tied 2–2.
Indiana Tech grabbed its first lead early in the second period. Just 1:19 in, Haylee Grenier finished a play assisted by Pell to make it 3–2. Adrian continued to push offensively, outshooting the Warriors heavily in the period, and eventually tied the game at 3–3 with 4:28 remaining in the frame.
The decisive moment came early in the third. At the 1:34 mark, Halle Murray delivered the game winning goal, finishing a feed from Greene to give Indiana Tech a 4–3 advantage.
From there, the Warriors leaned on goaltender Rose Lennon, who turned aside 35 of 38 shots in a standout performance. Adrian outshot Indiana Tech 38–20 on the night, including a 16-shot third period, but Lennon and the Warrior defense held strong to preserve the win.
Greene and Murray each recorded a goal and an assist, while Pell added two assists in the semifinal victory.
With the hard fought win over Adrian, Indiana Tech advances to the CCWHA Championship game, one step away from a tournament title.
