ATHENS, Tenn. – The Indiana Tech baseball team fell to No. 4 Tennessee Wesleyan 15-11 to wrap up the two-game series on Wednesday.
Indiana Tech took a 1-0 lead on an RBI single by
Logan Rybarczyk in the top of the second. Tennessee Wesleyan answered with two runs in the bottom of the second to take a 2-1 lead.
TWU scored a run in the third and fourth to extend their lead to 4-1.
Indiana Tech cut the lead to 4-2 in the top of the fifth on an RBI single by
Garrett Rainey, but TWU answered with two runs in the fifth to take a 6-2 lead.
Jorge Santana used an RBI single in the sixth to cut the lead to three at 6-3, but TWU scored five runs in the sixth to take a commanding 11-3 lead.
A solo home run by
Ben Morrison in the seventh made it 11-4. After back-to-back walks,
Jack Ferguson hit a three-run home run to cut the lead to 11-7.
Tennessee Wesleyan scored a run in the seventh to make it 12-7, but an RBI single by
Garrett Rainey in the eighth made it 12-8.
TWU scored three runs in the eighth to take a 15-8 advantage. RBIs by

Ben Morrison in the ninth made it 15-11, but TWU escaped the bases loaded jam to secure the 15-11 win.

Jack Ferguson all had two hits apiece. Ferguson led Tech with three RBI. Morrison and Ferguson both homered, and
Dane Richards doubled.
Jeremy Pudlik and
Keelan Dunkle each stole a base.
Keegan Miller got the start and took the loss, allowing two runs (one earned) in two innings.
Dale Jorgensen followed with 1.2 innings in relief.
Gary Glaser III threw 0.2 innings, and
Kail Baughman threw 1.1 innings out of the pen.
Danny May and
Andrew VanOeveren combined for 2.0 innings of relief, and
Ben Hammond threw 0.2 innings.
Indiana Tech falls to 10-6 on the year. The Warriors return to action on Saturday for their home and WHAC opener against Aquinas.
