WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The 13 Seed Indiana Tech fell to 4 Seed Cumberlands 99-86 in the 2026 NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship First Round, presented by Ballogy.
Indiana Tech led 18-15 early in the first half, but a 6-0 run by Cumberlands put the Patriots ahead 21-18.
The teams traded baskets for several minutes as Indiana Tech held a 37-35 lead. UC then used an 8-0 run to take a 43-37 edge. The Patriots led 43-39 at the half.
With UC ahead 51-46, Indiana Tech used a 10-0 run to swing the lead in their favor at 56-51. UC fought back to take a 65-63 lead. Indiana Tech extended their lead back to five at 72-67, but an 8-0 run put UC back in front 75-72.
The teams were tied at 77-77 with six minutes left. Cumberlands responded with a 13-0 run to take a 90-77 lead. The Patriots never looked back, securing a 99-86 victory.
Blake Davison led Indiana Tech with 25 points.
Jaxson Fugate added another double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds.
Steele Brasfield added 11 points.
Indiana Tech finishes the season 22-8.
