FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech men's volleyball team swept No. 13 Lawrence Tech on Friday.
Indiana Tech took a 15-10 lead in the first set. Lawrence Tech cut the lead to three on a few occasions, but Indiana Tech would go on to take the first set 25-18.
The second set was ultra-competitive as the teams were tied 14 different times. Indiana Tech took a narrow 21-19 lead, but Lawrence Tech tied it back up at 21-21. Indiana Tech took a 23-21 lead, and after Lawrence Tech cut it to one at 23-22 and 24-23, the Warriors took the set 25-23.
The teams were tied at 13-13, but Indiana Tech used a 4-0 run to take a 17-13 lead. Trailing 20-16, Lawrence Tech used a 4-0 run to tie the set at 20-20. With the set tied at 23-23, Indiana Tech scored the final two points to take the third set 25-23 and the match 3-0.
Dylan Poore led Indiana Tech with 14 kills.
Zack Karns had 5.0 blocks, and both
Logan Gieseke and
Logan Gamero had 4.0 blocks.
Nolan Bosley had 33 assists and eight digs.
Taiki Peterson had two aces, and
Jensen Yarosh had one.
Indiana Tech moves to 13-7 overall and 8-3 in WHAC play. The Warriors return to action on Saturday for Senior Day against Rochester Christian.
