Warriors Roll in Conference Opener, Sweep Rochester Christian

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Indiana Tech Warriors softball opened conference play in dominant fashion on Saturday, sweeping Rochester Christian Warriors softball with commanding wins of 13–0 and 11–1. The Warriors improved to 18–8 overall and 2–0 in WHAC play, making a strong early statement in league competition.

In game one, Indiana Tech wasted no time taking control, exploding for six runs in the third inning to break things open. Haylee Pruitt and Alyssa Harvey each delivered RBI singles, while aggressive baserunning and multiple wild pitches helped extend the lead. Extra-base hits from Melissa Cabrera and Mikayla Cvitanovich capped off the big inning as Tech built a 6–0 advantage.

The offense stayed hot in the fourth, adding five more runs, highlighted by RBI doubles from Lily Barringer and Rhiannon McKay, along with another run-producing hit from Cabrera. Indiana Tech finished with 14 hits in the run-rule victory.

In the circle, Savannah Bravo was dominant, striking out eight batters in just three innings to earn the win, while Mackenzie Arroyo closed things out with five strikeouts over two innings to complete the shutout.

Game two saw more of the same as the Warriors jumped out early with a three-run first inning. Alyssa Harvey and Victoria Boyer each drove in runs, setting the tone for another offensive showcase. Boyer delivered the biggest swing of the game in the third inning with a two-run home run, pushing the lead to 5–0.

Indiana Tech continued to apply pressure in the fourth and sixth innings. Mae Griffore and Carlye Walter both recorded RBI doubles, while Carly Basham added a two-run double to help seal the win. The Warriors totaled 13 hits in game two, showcasing depth throughout the lineup.

Inside the circle, Mallory Stinson started the game, allowing just one run (unearned) over three innings. Carlye Walter took over in relief and shut the door, tossing three scoreless innings to secure the victory.

Across the doubleheader, Indiana Tech combined for 24 runs on 27 hits, overwhelming Rochester Christian on both sides of the ball. From explosive innings to dominant pitching performances, the Warriors set the tone early in WHAC play.

Indiana Tech will look to carry this momentum forward as conference competition continues playing Lawrence Tech Sunday, March 22nd.
