FARMINGTON HILLS, MICH. - Indiana Tech Warriors softball continued conference play with a split against Lawrence Tech Blue Devils, using a dominant offensive showing in game one before falling in a tougher second matchup.
Indiana Tech wasted no time setting the tone in game one, exploding for four runs in the opening inning behind a grand slam from Carlye Walter. The Warriors kept the pressure on, adding to their lead through the middle innings with contributions across the lineup. Walter finished with a standout performance, driving in six runs, while Morgan Macek and Haylee Pruitt helped fuel an 11-hit effort.
Even as Lawrence Tech made a push with a five-run fifth inning, Indiana Tech stayed composed and answered late to secure the 10-6 victory behind Savannah Bravo in the circle.
Game two shifted momentum the other way as the Blue Devils capitalized early and held off the Warriors. Indiana Tech struck first on an RBI from Walter, and Macek added a solo home run to keep things within reach, but the offense struggled to find consistency, finishing with just four hits. Lawrence Tech used timely hitting, including a key three-run homer early, to build separation and take the 6-3 win.
The split highlights both the power and potential of the Indiana Tech Warriors softball lineup, while also showing the importance of consistency as WHAC play continues.
Next up, the Warriors will travel to Lima for a key conference matchup on Saturday, March 25th against University of Northwestern Ohio Racers softball, looking to build momentum as league play heats up.
