GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The #7 Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team kept their hot streak going on Saturday with an easy 18-4 road win over Aquinas College.
Tech would waste no time in this one, with
Lauren Hainlin scoring 42 seconds in to give the Warriors a lead they would never lose as they started the game on an 8-0 run. Aquinas would get on the board with two goals in the second quarter, but Tech would then go on another 7-0 run with four goals coming from
Kylie King as the Warriors exploded for 15 first half goals. Only five total goals would be scored in the second half, but the Warriors would still win the half 3-2 as they cruised to a 14-goal victory.
Jada Pope led the Warriors offense with a career high seven points, scoring three goals and adding four assists, while adding four ground balls and one caused turnover. King and
Michelle Farrell would each record five points, while Farrell also led the Warriors with seven ground balls.
Cyn'Cere McRae and
Lilliana Rivera each had a team high three caused turnovers. McRae added five ground balls, while Rivera had four and a team high seven draw controls.
Kat Hoff started in goal and earned the win for the Warriors, making two saves in 12:47 of action.
Kimber Weiss made her Warrior debut, entering the game late in the first quarter, relieving Hoff in goal. She would go on to play the final 47:13 of the game and make five saves.
The Warriors improve to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in conference play. Up next, Tech will gear up for a pair of tough road games as they head down to Marietta, Georgia to play #5 Life University and #5 Keiser University on Wednesday, April 2
