Warriors Run Past No. 5 Eagles in Georgia

MARIETTA, Ga. – The No. 7 Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team hit the road for a two-game trip down in Marietta, Georgia where the Warriors would take on No. 5 Life University on Thursday and No. 5 Keiser University on Friday.

The Running Eagles and the Seahawks were both tied at No. 5 in the previous top ten poll with 61 points, sitting 12 points ahead of the Warriors. The rankings will be sure to see a change in the new poll that comes out next week after Tech took down Life in the first game of their road trip.

In the game, the first quarter would favor the Eagles as they took a 3-2 lead through the first 15 minutes, but the Warriors would control the second quarter, holding a 3-1 advantage to go into halftime up 5-4. Defense would be on display in the third as only one goal was scored in the period to even the game at five. In the fourth, it was a 3-0 run by the Warriors that made the difference, as Tech went on to win it 8-6 and upset Life on their home field. Michelle Farrell had a team high three goals, with two coming in the final quarter, including the game winner, and two draw controls. Lilliana Rivera had a goal and two assists to finish with three points, tying Farrell for the team lead with three. Lexi Gallini led the defensive efforts with three caused turnovers and three ground balls. Kat Hoff had a standout game in goal for the Warriors, making a season high 15 saves and posting a .714 save percentage.

The Warriors are now 7-1 overall and will play No. 5 Keiser University tomorrow, April 3rd at 12pm in a neutral site game in Marietta, Georgia
