TUCSON, ARIZ. – Indiana Tech softball split its Sunday contests at Lincoln Park, defeating Providence (Mont.) 5–2 before falling to Dickinson State (N.D.) 2–0.
In the opening game, Providence struck first in the opening inning on a passed ball to take a 1–0 lead.
Indiana Tech answered in the third inning with a three-run rally. Carlye Walter delivered a two-RBI double to center field, scoring Morgan Macek and Alyssa Fox to give the Warriors the lead. Later in the inning, Alyssa Harvey added an RBI triple that brought home Walter to extend the advantage to 3–1.
Providence trimmed the lead to 3–2 in the sixth inning, but Indiana Tech added insurance in the seventh. Haylee Pruitt reached on an error that allowed Kiersten Delaney to score before Alyssa Harvey followed with an RBI single to bring home Pruitt and push the lead to 5–2.
The Warriors finished with nine hits in the contest, with Morgan Macek and Alyssa Harvey each recording two hits.
In the circle, Mackenzie Arroyo earned the win, striking out seven over five innings of work. Carlye Walter closed the game with two scoreless innings in relief, striking out three to secure the victory.
In the second game, Dickinson State capitalized on timely hitting to earn a 2–0 win.
The Blue Hawks broke the scoreless tie in the fourth inning with an RBI single before adding an insurance run in the sixth on an RBI double.
Indiana Tech recorded three hits in the contest from Morgan Macek, Kiersten Delaney, and Alyssa Harvey, but were unable to generate a run against Dickinson State pitcher Reannan Butler.
Savannah Bravo delivered a strong performance in the circle for the Warriors, striking out 10 across seven innings while allowing just five hits and two runs.
