FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech baseball team extended their winning streak to 12 on Friday, sweeping Lawrence Tech in a doubleheader. The Warriors took game one 9-1 in seven innings and game two 12-2 in seven innings.
Indiana Tech took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first of game one on a two-run home run by
Garrett Rainey.
A two-RBI double by
Ben Morrison in the second put Indiana Tech ahead 4-0.
A sacrifice fly by
Brycen Hannah in the third made it 5-0 Indiana Tech. A two-RBI single by
Dane Richards made it 7-0. A run came around to score on a wild pitch, and another run scored on an error to make it 9-0.
Indiana Tech would go on to win 9-1 in seven innings.
Derek Ruiz led Indiana Tech with two hits.
Ben Morrison,
Garrett Rainey, and
Dane Richards all had 2 RBI. Indiana Tech had three extra base hits and four stolen bases in the win.
Noah Redmon got the start and the win, throwing four scoreless innings while only allowing one hit.
Kaden Plank and
Kade Robinson combined to allow just one unearned run in three innings of relief.
Lawrence Tech took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first of game two. Indiana Tech immediately responded with a two-RBI single by
Derek Ruiz to take a 2-1 lead. A double steal made it 3-1, and another double steal made it 4-1 Indiana Tech.
A solo home run by
Brycen Hannah in the third made it 5-1 Indiana Tech.
Lawrence Tech scored a run in the fourth to make it 5-2. Indiana Tech responded with an RBI single by
Jack Ferguson to make it 6-2.
Another double steal by Indiana Tech in the sixth made it 7-2. A two-run home run by
Garrett Rainey put the Warriors ahead 9-2. Another run came around to score on a balk to make it 10-2. Another run scored on an error to make it 11-2.

Garrett Rainey followed by a
Jack Ferguson single and an error brought home an Indiana Tech run to secure the 12-2 seven inning win.
Garrett Rainey led Indiana Tech with three hits and 2 RBI.
Derek Ruiz also had two RBI. Indiana Tech stole 10 bases in the win.
Kail Baughman got the start and the win, allowing two runs (one earned) in 4.2 innings.
Gary Glaser III got the final out of the fifth, and
Dean Sommer followed with two scoreless innings in relief to close out the win.
Indiana Tech moves to 34-13 overall and 22-4 in WHAC play. The Warriors return to action on Saturday for Senior Day at home against Lawrence Tech.
