Indiana Tech Closes Regular Season with Doubleheader Sweep of Lawrence Tech on Senior Day

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech baseball team extended their winning streak to 14 games with a doubleheader sweep of Lawrence Tech on Senior Day. Warriors won game one 2-1 in seven innings and game two 7-3.
 
Indiana Tech took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game one on an RBI double by Ben Morrison.
 
A bases loaded walk to Ben Morrison in the second gave Indiana Tech a 2-0 lead.
 
The game remained 2-0 until the sixth when Lawrence Tech scored a run to make it 2-1. Lawrence Tech had runners on second and third in the sixth, but a flyout got Indiana Tech out of the inning.
 
Lawrence Tech had two runners on in the seventh, but Indiana Tech would secure the 2-1 win.
 
Ben Morrison drove in both runs for Indiana Tech. Both Morrison and Jack Ferguson doubled.
 
Ben Hammond got the win, allowing one run in six innings while striking out five. Colton Leatherman picked up his ninth save of the season with a scoreless seventh.
 
Lawrence Tech took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first of game two. The Blue Devils added a run in the fourth to take a 2-0 lead.
 
An RBI sacrifice bunt by Jorge Santana in the fifth made it 2-1. A two-RBI single by Ben Morrison made it 3-2. An RBI single by Jack Ferguson made it 4-2.
 
A bases loaded walk to Jorge Santana in the sixth made it 5-2 Indiana Tech. A wild pitch allowed another run to score to make it 6-2.
 
A sacrifice fly by Ben Morrison in the eighth made it 7-2. Lawrence Tech scored a run in the ninth to make it 7-3, which would be the final score.
 
Noah McEldowney led Indiana Tech with three hits. Ben Morrison had a team-high three RBI.
 
Luke Myers got the start, allowing one unearned run in an inning of work. Andrew VanOeveren picked up the win, allowing one run in 4.1 innings. Danny May picked up his second save of the year, allowing one unearned run in 3.2 innings while striking out five.
 
Indiana Tech closes the regular season 36-13 and 24-4 in WHAC play. The Warriors will be the No. 2 Seed in the WHAC Tournament next week.
