MARIETTA, Ga. – The No. 7 Indiana Tech women's lacrosse team geared up for game two on the road in Marietta, Georgia, taking on No. 5 Keiser University Friday afternoon, where Tech would fall to the Seahawks 13-18, splitting the trip with a 1-1 record.
The Warriors would pick up where they left off yesterday in their win over No. 5 Life, scoring the first three goals of the game against Keiser. The Seahawks would then comeback to tie the game before
Lauren Hainlin gave the Warriors a 4-3 lead to end the first period. Both sides would trade goals in a high scoring second quarter that ended with Keiser taking a 9-8 lead into halftime. The Seahawks would take control of the game in the third quarter, winning the period 6-1 to take a 15-9 lead. The Warriors would attempt to cut into the lead, but Keiser would continue to have an answer, matching Tech step for step. The Warriors would win the quarter 4-2 but ultimately fall 13-18 in the end.
Michelle Farrell had a dominant performance despite the loss, carrying the Warriors with eight goals and one assist. The junior also had three ground balls, two draw controls, and one caused turnover.
Lilliana Rivera had four draw controls, two ground balls, one goal, and one assist, while
Emma Kinder had three caused turnovers and one ground ball.
Kat Hoff made seven saves in goal for the Warriors and had five ground balls and one caused turnover.
The Warriors win streak ends at seven as they now sit at 7-2 overall. The ranked matchups will continue though as Tech will play No. 10 Lawrence Tech University in a big WHAC contest in their next game on Wednesday, April 8
th at 4pm at home.
