DEARBORN, Mich. – The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team swept Michigan-Dearborn to move to 5-0 in WHAC play, their fifth straight three-set victory.
With the first set tied at 9-9, Indiana Tech used a 7-1 run to take a 16-10 lead. Tech took a 21-13 lead to force a UM-Dearborn timeout. Indiana Tech would go on to take the first set 25-16.
UM-Dearborn led 9-7 in set two, but Indiana Tech fought back to tie the set at 10-10. UM-Dearborn took a 15-12 lead to force an Indiana Tech timeout. Following the timeout, Tech went on a 7-0 run to take a 19-15 lead. After a UM-Dearborn point made it 19-16, a 6-0 run gave Tech the 25-16 second set win.
With Tech ahead 6-5, the Warriors went on a massive 12-2 run to extend their lead to 18-7. Tech would go on to cruise to a 25-12 third set victory, securing the sweep.
Lauren Snyder led Indiana Tech with 14 kills.
Kristin Matlack led Tech with 32 assists and 4.0 blocks.
Emiline Wood had a team-high 12 digs, and both
Keira Hans and
Madelyn Russell each had two aces apiece.
Indiana Tech moves to 16-5 overall and 5-0 in WHAC play. The Warriors return to action on Friday night at home against No. 9 Aquinas.
