Pozo’s Goal Not Enough as Women’s Soccer Goes Down at #17 Taylor University

UPLAND, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team hit the road on Wednesday night for a match against #17 Taylor University at Turner Stadium in Upland, Indiana.

Taylor had the first three chances of the game, but the Warriors would make great use of their first chance, as freshman Isidora Pozo made a great play to intercept the ball at midfield and go on a breakaway into the Taylor end. She then launched a shot from over 30 yards out and chipped the goalie to give Tech a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute. The Trojans would answer in the 34th minute to make it 1-1 heading into halftime. In the second half, Taylor would take control, scoring at the 54th minute mark, on a penalty kick in the 66th minute, and in the 88th minute. Tech fought until the end but would not be able to keep up in the second half against a strong Taylor side, falling 1-4. In addition to Pozo, Jillian Lester would record a shot on goal for the Warriors offense. Madison Strain tied her career high with ten saves against the Trojans, matching last year's performance against Taylor when she also made ten saves.

The Warriors drop to 0-3-1 on the season and will face (RV) Campbellsville in their next game on Saturday, September 5th at 6pm in Campbellsville, Kentucky.
