Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Jack Koshko

Warriors Rout Cougars in Offensive Outburst

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The #2 ranked Indiana Tech men's soccer team played their first game in 11 days and picked up right where they left off. The Warrior defeated the University of Michigan-Dearborn 5-0 in their last game and followed it up with a 6-0 rout over Cleary University this afternoon.

Tech wasted no time with a goal in the first minute of the game by an Emre Baris header off of a Fabian Hauer cross. The Warriors would control the game from start to finish, limiting the Cougars to just two shots on goal all game, compared to their 15. Matthew Takawira and Robin Vezinhet would each score in the first half to make it 3-0 Tech at the break. Vezinhet continued his strong run of form, scoring in a fifth straight game for the Warriors. In the second half, he would assist the fourth goal to Isaac Coppinger and then ten minutes later scored his second goal of the game to make it 5-0. Coppinger finished things off for The Orange & Black with his second goal of the game to make it 6-0 in the 70th minute. Alonso Rosales and Zak El Hannach each picked up an assist in the match, while Hauer had two. Alan Fleischer stopped both the Cleary chances, finishing with two saves, and earning the shutout win. He is now 7-1-1 on the season with five shutouts.

The Warriors improve to 9-1-1 overall on the season and 2-0-0 in WHAC play. They will be on the road at Lawrence Tech in their next game on Saturday, October 3rd at 4pm in Southfield, Michigan.
