CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Indiana Tech women's soccer team started their three-day road trip to Kentucky on Saturday, where they took on (RV) Campbellsville University on Saturday evening before getting set to play Midway University on Monday afternoon.
In their first game of the trip, the Warriors would face a tough Campbellsville squad, who is receiving votes in the most recent national poll that came out last week. Tech would simply be outmatched in this one as Campbellsville controlled the game from start to finish. The Tigers would score three first half goals to build a strong lead going into halftime. They would add two more in the second half, winning it 5-0.
Jillian Lester and
Brianna Ramirez would each record a shot on goal for the Warriors, but the offense would struggle to create chances outside of that.
Madison Strain would have a career day in goal for the Warriors though, making an incredible 18 saves over 82 minutes of action.
Veronica Cenci would play the final eight minutes in goal for Tech, making one save in her Warrior debut.
The Warriors now sit at 0-4-1 on the season. They will take a day off to rest and will be back in action on Monday, September 7
th at 1pm against Midway University in Midway, Kentucky.
