Miguel Tucker was named to the Indiana Tech baseball coaching staff in the summer of 2018 and is entering his second season with the program. Tucker comes in as the Graduate Assistant role for Indiana Tech’s program where he will also serve as the programs' outfield coach.
Before joining head coach, Kip McWilliams staff, Tucker served as an assistant at his alma mater, the University Of Saint Francis Ind. from 2015-2018. At the University of Saint Francis he assisted the Cougars as the outfield coach, as well as a co-recruiting coordinator and the Head Developmental coach,
Tucker has also been the manager of the Fort Wayne Panthers, a member of the Indiana Summer Collegiate League in Fort Wayne, Ind. Since Tucker has taken the reins in the 2016 summer the Panthers have finished first in the league (2016), made it to the Championship game in 2017 Playoff where the Panthers ended falling just short, the Panthers finished the 2018 summer with a .444 winning percentage.
Before getting into the coaching at the colligate level, Tucker managed several local travel ball teams varying from the ages of 15U-to-16U from 2013-2016, FW-Red Cubs (2013), AWP Cubs (2014), AWP Sports (2015). Tucker served as a key role of the developmental stage for those teams as well as a mentor. While being in that role Tucker assisted in many of young athletes making their varsity high school teams as sophomores and juniors. A handful of these those athletes are currently or just entered playing at the collegiate level. During this time Tucker, also assisted with campus and lessons through The Baseball & Softball Academy for two years.
A native of Wolf Lake, Indiana, Tucker began his coaching career with the Fort Wayne travel ball program the Fort Wayne Cubs as 17U assistant coach during the summer of 2012, where he helped guide and mentor four players to the NCAA Division III level, three to the Junior College which then ended up at the NAIA level while having one go to the NCAA Division I and end up getting drafted in the 33rd round of the 2016 Draft.
Before starting his coaching career, Tucker went to catch at Glen Oaks Community College (2010-2012). Tucker’s first year as a Viking they won the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Title with a conference record of 24-6 and overall record of 28-14. After Tucker’s two seasons with Glen Oaks he then returned back to Indiana and to catch and play first base at the University of Saint Francis. Tucker graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts, while Minoring in Business Administration as well Sports in Society.
