Juan Carlos Cruz is entering his third season with the Warriors, following a successful stint as the head boy’s coach at Bishop Dwenger High School in Ft. Wayne. He is involved with all aspects of the program, including technical and tactical development of the first team, practice planning, recruiting, and off-season programming.
Cruz is the director of Fort Wayne Futsal, founded in 2010, and Fort Wayne Phoenix FC (2015), the only group in Indiana sanctioned by the US Youth Futsal organization and the USSF. He operates Catalonia Camps, which develops youth players through both soccer and futsal.
Cruz is a staff coach and technical director with Ft. Wayne Sport Club and holds a USSF ‘C’ License, USSF National Youth License, a US Youth Futsal Level 3 National License, and has earned coaching certifications through FC Barcelona Escola. He is also the State Director for US Youth Futsal.
The Northwest Indiana native holds a bachelor’s degree from University of Saint Francis. He ranks as one of the program’s all-time leaders in goals, assists, and points.
Cruz resides in Ft. Wayne with his wife, Jodie, and four children, Alex (20), a Tech sophomore, Brianna (19), Dominic (13), and Luca (11).
