@INTechMSoccer Finishes Strong against No. 22 UNOH

LIMA, Ohio – The Indiana Tech men's soccer team put together a strong second half, but it wasn't enough as the Warriors feel to Northwestern Ohio on the road, 5-2.

The loss drops the Warriors to 4-2-1 on the season, 1-1 in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play while the 22nd-ranked Racers improve to 5-2-1 overall and 1-0 in conference action.

It was all UNOH in the first half as the home team took 21 shots, putting eight on frame and converting two markers. The first came in the third minute via penalty kick with the second tally coming in the 20th minute. Tech attempted one shot in the half, putting it on frame.

Gaston Raposo scored his second goal in as many contests, with an assist from Zachary St. Aubin, to cut the lead to one, 2-1, five minutes into the half. Five minutes later UNOH tallied their third goal, but the Warriors didn't back down. St. Aubin made it a one goal lead again in the 58th minute, when he got a pass from Padraic Ormsby and found the back of the net to make it 3-2.

The home team added a pair of tallies in the 77th and 84th minute to seal the 5-2 victory. UNOH tallied 36 shots to four for the Warriors while putting 17 on frame to just three for Tech. Freshman goalkeeper, Adam Viviano, made 12 saves in her first start while Liam Davies made one save for the Racers.

Tech continues WHAC play when they return to the field on Saturday, Oct. 4 against Lawrence Tech with kick off scheduled for 7 p.m.
