Box Score AMES, Iowa – The Indiana Tech American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 1 Ice Hockey team had its winning streak snapped by No. 7 Iowa State University Friday night. The Warriors held tough against the highest-ranked opponent they've faced yet this season by entering the final period down just a pair of goals before dropping to the seventh-ranked Cyclones 5-0.
The Orange and Black recorded a season-high 53 shots the previous day, but on this night the heavily-favored Cyclones would have the edge in shots on Tech goaltender
Matt Hughes with 52.
In a game of two halves, the Warriors played almost even in the first 30 minutes, surrendering just a lone goal to J.P Kascsak. Had the Orange and Black been able to shut down the Cyclone forward, Tech would have been looking at a 2-0 final.
Tech was unable to unleash its highly successful power play that was operating at a season-high 50 percent (3-for-6) the night before because the Cyclones were not called for any penalties on the night.
The Division 1 team hopes to get back to its winning ways with its next matchup Saturday, Oct. 11 against Midland University at 8:30 p.m.
