Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 1 Ice Hockey team got a couple of bad bounces that would have made the contest a lot closer than the actual outcome. For the second consecutive night, the Orange and Black played the No. 2-ranked Eagles even in the final period but let the game slip away in the early going.

Cameron Dimmitt's power-play tally about eight minutes into the third period put the Warriors within a pair of goals of the heavily-favored Robert Morris squad, but a second odd goal by Eagles shortly after sealed the game for them at 4-1.

It was the seventh time the Orange and Black have faced a current top-20 opponent, with Tech's next contest against a team currently receiving national-ranking votes.

Dimmit showed extreme patience and poise on his goal when he held the puck as long as he could while moving to his left before depositing the puck to the back of the net after taking a nice pass from Jake Henrikson.

Tech looked like they would take a scoreless tie into the first intermission until an apparent harmless dump-in by the Eagles from the neutral zone somehow got by Tech goaltender John Slavik.

On the final goal of the game and second unusual score by the Eagles, Slavik made a save from in-tight that deflected off the crossbar and then off of his back and into the net.

In all, the Orange and Black netminder faced 55 shots and was solid throughout the contest. Slavik trapped a goal-bound puck with the knob of his stick for what might be the save of the season.

The Division 1 team will next face Kent State University Friday, Oct. 31 at 7:30 p.m. in the first of two weekend matchups against the Golden Flashes.
