Black's First Goal Snaps @INTechMSoccer's Streak in 2-1 Win

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Senior Garrett Black's first collegiate goal gave the Indiana Tech men's soccer team a 2-1 over Concordia on Wednesday to snap a four-game losing streak.

In the 84th minute, Padraic Ormsby sent a free kick into the box and Black beat the Cardinals (3-11, 2-5 WHAC) keeper to the ball, heading home the game-winner and giving the Warriors (6-6-1 3-4 WHAC) another late-game victory.

Black's goal bookended the Tech scoring as freshman Landon Cochran scored the game's first foal at 33:13. Adam Knight received a quick pass from Ormsby off a free kick, beating a defender, before chipping the ball into the box for Cochran who rifled a shot into the upper-90 to beat the keeper for a 1-0 lead.

The home team netted the equalizer just three minutes later and neither team really threatened until the 84th minute when Black got his first career marker and a win for the Warriors.

The Cardinals tallied 25 shots to just 12 for the Orange and Black and had a 10-4 advantage in shots on goal. Freshman Adam Viviano made nine saves for Tech while Daniel Wykes made two for the home team.

Cochran led the Warriors offensive attack with three shots, putting two on frame while Knight registered two shots.

Tech returns home to host Aquinas College on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.
