DEARBORN, Mich. – The Indiana Tech volleyball continued its dominance in the month of October with a 3-0 win over Michigan-Dearborn in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play. The win extends the team's win streak to two, with three wins in four contests this month.
It was also the third time this season the Orange and Black have put together back-to-back 3-0 matches. The win also puts the team over .500 in WHAC play at 6-5, 11-8 overall. Tech has also taken eight of its last nine sets that include a pair over No. 9 Madonna.
The Warriors took the first set 25-17, followed by a 25-18 second set win and then capped the night with a 12-point victory in the third set win, 25-13, in maintaining their dominance over UMD (0-22, 0-12 WHAC), where Tech has won 17 of the 20 meetings between the two teams all-time.
The Warriors increased their attack each set with kill totals of nine, 12 and 15, respectively.
Katelyn St. Martin and
Shanice Richards led the team with eight kills each, while
Stacy Nagy added six. Richards also led the team with five block assists.
Karli Jones had a pair of aces and tallied a team-high 20 assists while
Taylor Kelso added a team-high nine digs for the Warriors.
Tech returns home for a match Friday, Oct. 10 against WHAC foe, Northwestern Ohio, scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
