@INTechWSoccer Closes out Regular Season with Tough Loss

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Having clinched a spot in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference with a Marygrove loss earlier in the day, the Indiana Tech women's soccer team had a promising finish to the 2014 regular season, despite a 1-0 loss to No. 9 Northwestern Ohio on a chilly Saturday night at Warrior Athletic Field.

It was a fairly quite first half with just nine total shots, five shots from the Racers (14-1-1, 8-1 WHAC) with the other four coming from the Warriors (9-9, 2-7 WHAC), though both teams tallied two shots on goal.

The first real threat from either team came in the 47th minute as UNOH got a clear look on frame, but Tech's senior goalkeeper, Bre Wojnarowski, made a diving save to keep the game scoreless. Unfortunately, on the fourth corner kick of the contest, the Racers broke through off the set piece with the game winner.

The Racers outshot Tech 10-7 in the contest, putting six on target to Tech's three. Wojnarowski finished the contest with five saves in 90 minutes while UNOH collected their NAIA-best 13th shutout of the year.

The Warriors will look for an upset and some revenge on Wednesday, Nov. 5 when they travel to Lima, Ohio to face the top-seeded Racers in the WHAC Quarterfinals with kickoff scheduled for 2 p.m.
