Box Score CHICAGO – The Indiana Tech American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 1 Ice Hockey team took on its toughest opponent of the weekend Sunday in host 11th-ranked Robert Morris. The Warriors played the Eagles to a scoreless tie during the first period, but Robert Morris got five second period goals before taking the game 7-0.
"This wasn't our best effort tonight," said head coach
Frank DiCristofaro. "We have to regroup for next week."
Matt Hughes faced 45 shots against the Eagles with a solid 10-save performance during the first period. Robert Morris turned up the heat in the latter two periods with 25 additional shots.
With the completion of the Robert Morris Invitational, the Warriors have reached the midseason with 19 games in the books and 19 remaining. One of next weekend's games is against a non-top-25 team, Tech's only second Division I opponent not to receive votes or be ranked in the ACHA top-25 poll this season, however the other two games are against a top-20 team.
Tech will shuffle off to Buffalo for three games next weekend. The Warriors will face Canisius College on Friday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. before meeting the No. 20 University of Buffalo for a pair of 2:30 p.m. games Saturday, Nov. 22 and Sunday, Nov. 23.
