ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Despite a pair of career-highs from
Milos Milidragovic and
Jared Bloom, the Indiana Tech men's basketball team suffered an 80-68 setback to Concordia in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action on Saturday.
The Cardinals (2-4, 2-1 WHAC) scored the first five points of the contest and 16 of the first 23 to open a nine-point lead. The Warriors (2-5, 1-2 WHAC) didn't back down, using a 14-3 run to take a 21-19 lead on a Bloom three-pointer. After trading several baskets, Tech kept the game close, but the home team scored the final four points of the half to take a 36-30 lead into the break.
Tech was able to cut the deficit to five three times in the second half, but the home team increased the lead to nine before a pair of baskets by
Chester McFadden and
Tyrece Edwards cut the deficit to six. A 16-6 run by the Cardinals gave them a 16-point, 68-52, lead which the Warriors couldn't overcome.
The Orange and Black played well offensively, sinking 26-of-63 (41.3%) shots from the field, including a 9-for-22 (40.9%) mark from behind the arc. The difference in the contest was at the free throw line where the Warriors were 7-for-10 (70%) but the Cardinals were 21-for-37 (56.8%), a 14-point swing, the margin of victory for Concordia.
Milidragovic finished with a team-high 19 points and eight rebounds while McFadden added 12 points and Bloom finished with 11.
The Warriors will look to end their two-game skid when they return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 25 in Grand Rapids, Mich. against fourth-ranked Davenport. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
