Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 1 Ice Hockey team got off to a good start with the opening goal but fell behind after the first period. Tech tied the game at 2 and then thought they had fought back to tie the game again, but the goal was disallowed as Midland went on to get three of the game's last four goals to beat the Orange and Black 6-3 Saturday night.

Cameron Dimmitt opened the scoring just 1:18 into the contest, but Midland got a pair of goals 19 seconds apart midway through the first and took the 2-1 lead at the first intermission.

Vaughn Clouston needed just 47 seconds into the middle frame to tie the game for Indiana Tech. Michael Cruse earned an assist on the play. Midland would retake the lead half way through the second period and Tech had appeared to answer until a hand pass had waived Indiana Tech's apparent tying marker.

Midland would respond with a late pair of second period goals to put them up 5-2 after two periods. Tech clawed back within a pair when Dimmitt notched his second of the night to make it a 5-3 game, but Midland answered again for the final time and the 6-3 final. Dimmitt's second goal came via the power play with helpers from Matt Walton and Ian Maisonneuve.

Zach Larson split time with Matt Hughes, with the former making 23 saves and the latter 14.Tech's offense peppered Midland's goaltender with 42 shots on the night.

The D1 team will head to Chicago next weekend for the Robert Morris Invitational. Tech will play three games starting Friday, Nov.14 against the No. 20 Robert Morris Colonials (Pa.) at 8 p.m. followed by a game against Oakland University Saturday, Nov.15 at 2:30 p.m. and concluding with a game against the No. 8 Robert Morris Eagles Sunday, Nov.16 at 2:20 p.m.
