WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The Indiana Tech women's basketball team, playing shorthanded due to injuries, fell to Grace, 86-55, at the Orthopaedic Capital Center.
The Lancers (3-0) took the early lead at home with a pair of three-pointers before
Sarah White knocked down a pair of free throws to make it 6-2.
Taylor Seiss followed two possessions later with a trey for the Warriors (0-3) to cut the deficit to two, 7-5.
Shallante Clements followed a Lances 4-0 run with a three-point play the old fashioned way to make it 11-8.
The two teams traded baskets to make it 14-10, but then the Lancers used a 10-0 run over the next two minutes to take a 14-point, 24-10, lead and never looked back.
The Warriors converted 17-of-55 shots (30.9%) in the contest, going 8-for-21 (38.1%) from behind the arc while going 13-for-18 (72.2%) from the free throw line. On the other end of the floor, Grace finished 32-for-57 (56.1%) from the floor, 8-for-16 (50%) from the three-point arc and 14-for-22 (63.6%) from the charity stripe.
Seiss finished with a team-high 14 points with freshman
Skyler Ortiz adding 10 for the Warriors.
Shallante Clements pulled down seven rebounds while adding five points.
The Warriors return to Fort Wayne for a three-game homestand beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 11 against No. 19 Huntington with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
