@INTECHICE_D1 Ready to Regroup With Home Rematch

Box Score ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Indiana Tech American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 1 Ice Hockey team could not recover from a second period they'd like to forget. The Warriors allowed four middle stanza tallies before falling to Grand Valley State University Friday night, 7-1.

"We had too many lapses in our defensive zone. I expect a better effort tomorrow night," said head coach Frank DiCristofaro in referring to Saturday's rematch against the Lakers.

Tech entered the second period down just a goal before the Lakers upped their lead to 5-0. Trying to get some momentum going, Steve Klisz opened the third period scoring to make it a 5-1 game with an assist from Jarrett Pfeiffer.

Zach Larson and John Slavik split time in net for Indiana Tech, with the former getting the start and registering 27 saves. Slavik recorded 10 saves in the third period for the Warriors.

These same two teams will go at it Saturday at the SportOne Parkview IceHouse starting at 5:30 p.m. and then the Warriors will take on Western Michigan on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
