Box Score 2 ELON/LAURINBURG, N.C.– The eighth-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team opened the 2014 season with an 8-5 loss to Elon at Elon Fields on Friday night.
Tech's goalkeeper,
Tony Loftus, played well and the defense had a strong performance but the offense just wasn't there in the season-opener for the Warriors (1-0).
Josh Puckett scored four goals while
Kyle Goehring added the other for the Warriors while
Brian Nichter had three assists and
Kyle Dommermuth had two.
The Orange and Black registered its first win of the year on Saturday, defeating St. Andrews University 10-8.
Puckett had three goals and an assist in the contest while
Dan Schaepkens tallied three other goals for the visitors.
Alex Kueck was solid on defense in both games and netted his first goal in the win. On face-offs,
Aidan Jarmus was dominating all weekend for Tech.
The Warriors will return home for their 2014 home-opener on Saturday, Mar. 15 when they host Kennesaw State at 2 p.m.
