Box Score SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The 13th-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team defeated No. 11 SCAD-Savannah 10-7 on Saturday at Leighton Stadium on the campus of St. Joe High School.

It took less than a minute for the Warriors (3-2) to find the back of the net on a shot from Kyle Goehring for the 1-0 lead. Brian Nichter added a man-up tally at the 7:50 mark and Dan Schaepkens added his first of three goals at the 1:34 mark for a 3-0 lead. It looked as though Tech would carry that lead into the second period, but two goals in twenty seconds got the Bees right back in the contest.

The visitors added the first tally in the second quarter but the Warriors closed the half with a flurry of tallies, with two from Josh Puckett and one each from Collin Hoffman and Schaepkens for the 7-3 halftime lead.

SCAD won the third period 3-1 as Matthew Dean and Nathan Travis each tallied their second goals of the game and Hoffman scored the lone goal for Tech.

Nichter and Schaepkens added insurance goals in the final quarter for a 10-6 lead with 8:21 to play. A late goal from Evan Ruszala accounted for the final score, 10-7.

Tech outshot SCAD 45-34 in the contest and also had 18 more groundballs, collecting 48. Tech won 13-of-21 faceoffs, led by Lee Raymond who was 10-for-13.

Tony Loftus was stellar in goal again as he tallied 10 saves while allowing seven goals in the contest. Nichter finished with a team-high four points (2 goals, 2 assists) while Schaepkens (3 goals) and Puckett (2 goals, 1 assist) each tallied three points for the Warriors.

Tech returns to Leighton Stadium on Sunday, Mar. 23 when they face top-ranked St. Thomas in South Bend, Ind. The game is scheduled to being at 9:30 a.m.
