Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 GRAND RAPIDS/ALLENDALE, Mich. – The 10th-ranked Indiana Tech men's lacrosse team split a pair of Central Collegiate Lacrosse Association Division II, West division games. Tech fell to No. 5 Grand Valley State 17-4 on Friday and beat Aquinas 13-5 on Saturday.

In the Warriors 17-4 loss to fifth-ranked Grand Valley State University, Kyle Goehring paced the Warriors with two goals while Josh Puckett and Nick Knauf added the other two tallies for Tech.

The Warriors fell behind early, trailing 4-1 after the first period and it was 8-2 at the halftime break. The Lakers scored the only goal of the third period but put up eight in the fourth for the 17-4 win.

Against Aquinas, Puckett, who led all players with four goals, scored the game's first tally off an assist by Brian Nichter for the lone tally in the first period. Dan Schaepkens, Nichter and Puckett each added goals in the second to push the lead to four before the Saints netted back-to-back goals to cut the lead in half, 4-2. Nichter and Collin Hoffman ended the first half with a goal each to make it 6-2 Tech.

Anthony Blaisdell and Hoffman each scored in the opening minutes of the third period, both assisted by Nichter. Aquinas added two more goals to make it 8-4 Warriors but Hoffman and Blaisdell, off assists from Nick Knauf and Nichter, pushed the lead back to six, 10-4. Puckett added two fourth quarter tallies and Schaepkens netted another goal to ice the game.

Tech outshot Aquinas 49-36 in the game and won 12-of-20 face-offs on the day. Neither team converted their extra-man opportunities while each fielded 29 ground balls.

Tony Loftus got the win in net, making five saves and Puckett led the offense with four goals and an assist for five points while Nichter scored twice and racked up six assists four eight points.

The Warriors now await their seeding for the CCLA tournament which begins next Saturday, Apr. 26 with a time, place and opponent yet to be determined.
