Box Score DEARBORN, Mich. – Despite a pair of goals from Cameron Dimmitt and 33 saves from John Slavik, the Indiana Tech ACHA DI hockey team was swept by UM-Dearborn, losing 9-3 at the UM-Dearborn Ice Arena on Saturday.

The Warriors (0-2) struggled to defend the power play of the Wolverines (2-0) as the home team converted 4-of-9 chances while also adding a short-handed goal.  Tech did manage two power play goals of its own, but once again a slow start hurt Tech.

A four-goal first period gave UMD an early lead and prompted a goalie change for Tech, as Slavik replaced Matt Hughes between the pipes. The home team scored three more times before Jarrett Pfeiffer converted on a power play to get Tech on the board. Two minutes later Cameron Dimmitt added another tally for the Warriors, making it 7-2.

In the final period, Tech played UMD to a 1-1 draw thanks to a Dimmitt penalty shot, beating the goalie glove side for the goal.

The Warriors scored three goals and had an assist while putting 27 shots on goal and racking up 35 penalty minutes. On the other side, the Wolverines totaled nine goals on 50 shots, while collecting 26 penalty minutes.

Slavik played well in the net, allowing five goals while making 33 saves in 40 minutes of play.

The Warriors will look to capture the program's first win on Saturday, Sept. 20 when they host Central Michigan at the SportONE/Parkview IceHouse. The home opener will is part of the Warriors homecoming festivities with puck drop scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
