Box Score  | FORT WAYNE, Ind. – With a four goal first half, led by a pair of markers from Tori Singstock and Morgan Kroezen, the Indiana Tech women's soccer team defeated Cleary University, 5-1 at Warrior Athletic Field for their 2014 home opener on Saturday.

It took just 19 seconds for the Warriors (3-2) to get on the board as Singstock stole the ball in the offensive third before dropping the ball off to Megan Perrey (2) who bounced the ball past the Cougars (2-4) goal keeper in the lower left 90 for the 1-0 lead.

In the fifth minute, Tech struck again as Jamie Hawkey sent a cross from the left side of the 18-yard box, finding the head of Kroezen (1) who was able to place the ball just over the outstretched arm of Paige Colosimo for a 2-0 advantage.

Singstock (2) got in on the scoring six minutes later as the junior dribbled down the far side of the field, beating several defenders before slipping the ball past the keeper near post. The Warriors forward added her third goal of the season with 3:15 left in the half as Jessica Zurcher dropped off a soft pass the Singstock ripped from the top of the 18-yard box to the upper 90 for a 4-0 lead.

Kroezen recorded the final marker for Tech at the 51 minute mark as she beat two defenders and then beat Colosimo one-v-one for the goal.

The lone tally for the Cougars came in the 76th minute when Alexis Whatcott was taken down inside the box and was awarded a penalty kick. She took advantage, sneaking the ball just inside the far post for the goal.

The Warriors had several chances in the final 14 minutes of play, however, each shot sailed high, keeping the score at 5-1.

In all, Tech outshot Cleary 27-7, holding an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal. Tech also had five corner kicks to just one for the Cougars.

The Warriors keeper, Bre Wojnarowski played all 90 minutes, making four saves and allowing just one goal on the PK, despite guessing right.

The Orange and Black return to the pitch on Wednesday, Sept. 17 when they travel to Huntington, Ind. to face the Huntington Foresters with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m.
